Job Description:
Responsibilities include the rapid implementation of messaging product services and applications. Will also serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), interfacing with the vendors and related internal organizations on a daily basis. Manage vendor relations and provide input and documentation for all product feature requests and platform enhancements. Will create product documentation, network designs, capacity plans and service descriptions.
Document and test all new hardware and software rollouts and upgrades for new and existing platforms. Be responsible for quality assurance of products before activation in the production network.
Minimum Required Skills / Competencies:
· Minimum seven years of wireless network engineering with an emphasis on Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) and working knowledge of the networking elements involved. A working knowledge of MAP, SS7, and/or SIGTRAN protocols required. Working knowledge of SOAP, SMPP, UCP, TCP, SNMP and NTP protocols a plus. An understanding of text and data messaging traffic flow for MO to MT in a GSM network required. RedHat Linux and HP OpenVMS Operating System experience is desired. IP networking experience including switch & router configuration is also a plus.
· A Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree with an emphasis on Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Information Systems.
