Job Description:

Be a part of our Mobile Terminal test team, which plays an integral part in the verification and success of our exciting suite of mobile devices!
Responsibilities:
Evaluate subscriber equipment design and communicate company positions to vendors and suppliers.
This person will also be responsible for validation and testing of handset prototypes from different vendors.
Documentation of items such as issues lists, requirements documents, etc.
Read and understand telecommunication standards – GSM, WiFi, Bluetooth. Interface with product development, network engineering and vendors engineering teams
Assist in the formation of specifications and validation test cases.
Work on prototype terminals in developing and validating the terminal for deployment in the T- Mobile USA markets.
Work with vendors on conveying the issues and ability to be able to analyze and troubleshoot information.
Requirements:
Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (electrical engineering preferred).
Must possess a valid driver’s license. Be able to identify and understand telecommunication standards.
Previous experience working with telecommunications standards and IT standards strongly preferred – ETSI, 3GPP, Bluetooth, WiFi, UMA, UMTS.
Previous experience with mobile terminal test equipment like Anite; R&S; Agilent –preferred.
Programming experience preferred –, C++, Java.
2-3 years of work experience working with GSM in relation to either network infrastructure or mobile terminals preferred. Candidates with a Masters degree will be considered with 1 year experience.
Requires a strong understanding of the wireless sector, and a working knowledge of GSM signaling and protocols with the ability to utilize mobile test equipment (ie. Anite, Racal, Aspects, Network Analyzers, or GPRS tools).
Ability to work individually and on a team. Should be innovative to learn Test Methodologies and New Technology quickly. Highly motivated and driven.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
The position involves some travel and periodical non- standard meeting hours.
Understanding of the GSM / GPRS / UMTS functionalities is highly preferred.
