Job Description:
Develop and manage contractual relationships with IT Suppliers (hardware, software, related services). Negotiate IT contracts and Statements of Work on behalf of internal customers. Ensure that appropriate internal organizations (e.g., Risk Management, Legal, Finance) are involved in evaluating business issues and risks. Provide reporting as required to internal customers and department management.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Negotiate contract terms and conditions
Provide timely and precise contract documents in response to business owner requirements
Inform internal customers, vendors and management of activities and progress through regular written and verbal communications
Assist business units in developing Statements of Work
Develop relationships with business units to support enterprise objectives, influence key stakeholders, and jointly develop strategic sourcing strategies
Create, manage, draft, distribute, analyze RFXs
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Gather market and industry data as needed
Work with Accounts Payable to assure timely and accurate payment to vendors
Minimum Required Skills / Competencies:
Working knowledge of business implications of contractual provisions
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence others
Knowledge of negotiation tactics and strategies
Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks delivering excellent results
Daily working experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to explain contractual terms and concepts to business units
Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required
Working knowledge of sound contracting practices, strategic sourcing, supplier management
Ability to work with Senior Corporate Leadership
Experience
5-10 experience negotiating and drafting business terms in procurement related agreements, preferably in the technology area.
Experience in IT hardware, software and services
Experience working with inside and outside counsel
Education/Vocational Training:
B.A or B.S. degree is required. MBA or JD desirable but not required.
