Job Description:

• Collaborate with Project Management, Software Development, Messaging Engineering, Operations and Product Development teams to perform QA/QC activities and smooth deployment into Production environment.
• Participate in test planning, functional spec/technical requirements reviews, design/code reviews, and implementation/engineering reviews, guidelines, process and standards including identifying/preparing test environment(s), data, and other test dependencies.
• Work with Design Engineers, Business Analysts to validate actual test results against expected results with functional, technical and system requirements.
• Understand and adhere to test planning and execution guidelines, processes and standards.
• Improve and document improvements to the testing process.
• Report status of assigned test tasks and issues.
• Escalate issues and risks to test management as required.
• Take ownership of a test area(s) in a large project comprising many such test areas, write test cases, get test case reviews done, test execution, report bugs/defects and bring them to resolution working with developers, and engineers involved.
• Ensure the timely resolution of issues encountered during testing, including the handling of any required escalations.


Minimum Required Skills / Competencies:

7 to 8 years technical experience with Unix/Windows- based software, UNIX, networking and end-user support.

• 5+ Years experience with system development life cycle with focus on QA/QC/test activities

• 5+ Years experience in ''n'' tier architecture.

• 5+ Years experience and understanding of testing techniques, methods and standards.

• 5+ Years combined experience and understanding of the following technologies: J2E, J2ME, Unix (Solaris), Linux (SuSe, Redhat), WebLogic and be familiar with PL SQL, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, TLS, WAP protocols, MMS, SMS, POP3/IMAP, SyncML, OMA/SyncML.

• 3+ Years experience and understanding of the following tools: Quality Center, Test Director, Load Runner, QuickTestPro, Win Runner.

• Professional certifications from ORACLE, SUN, Microsoft are desirable

Preferred Competencies:

J2E, J2ME, Unix (Solaris), Linux (SuSe, Redhat), WebLogic and be familiar with PL SQL, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, TLS, WAP protocols,POP3/IMAP• 3+ Years experience and understanding of the following tools: Load Runner, load test automation and functional test automation
